In healthcare, ECM is the adhesive that stitches together all of the ancillary systems and unstructured data. It can add to the electronic medical record information such as narratives from doctors or clinics still using paper as well as ancillary documents like handwritten personal medication lists and advanced directives. It is being used by some facilities to manage electronic records like digital photos taken for clinical purposes.
